The action kicks off in Chicago with the White Sox looking to put an end to the Guardians season. The White Sox won the first two games in Cleveland. Game 1 was a dominating performance from the pitching staff, throwing a shutout, and the offense gave them just enough, winning 3-0.Â
In Game 2, the Guardians were in control of the game until the sixth inning. They were winning 2-1 until that frame, when the White Sox strung together a few hits and got three runs. The Guardians did score another run, but it wasnt enough, and Chicago headed home with a 2-0 lead.
The next game on the slate is between the Dodgers and Braves, with Los Angeles looking to close out the series. With their backs against the wall, it will be an all-hands-on-deck approach from the Braves. In a short series, you need to pull out all the stops and get all the leverage you can from your offense and your bullpen.Â
The matchup between the Rays and Yankees could also be the last one of the season for New York. They are sending out Max Fried to save the season, but he hasnt been exactly impressive in postseason starts in his career. He did have a strong outing against the Red Sox, and the Yankees have been very good at home this season. The Rays have three chances to close out this series, but surely they want to get it done immediately.Â
Hopefully, this Brewers and Padres series never ends. All three games have been decided by just one run, and the tension in each game has been fantastic. The Padres repeatedly took a lead last night only to see the Brewers climb back into the game. Ultimately, the Padres finally kept them from winning, and the series is now 2-1.Â
