One game that stands out on todays schedule is between the Bears and Packers. There are a few big rivalries in the NFL, but almost none have as much history as Chicago and Green Bay. This afternoon, the Bears travel to face the Packers with a 3-1 record, and the Packers are 2-2.Â
Chicago comes into the game as a favorite on the road, but they have a backup quarterback starting for them this week. Tyson Bagent will make his second straight start. In last weeks game against the Jets, Bagent went 25-for-34 with 268 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.Â
The running game continues to be a focal point for the team. The Jets simply had no answer for the two-headed monster that is Kyle Monangai and DAndre Swift. Monangai alone had 146 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns. The Packers have the fifth-worst rushing defense in football.Â
Green Bay hasnt quite looked like themselves, and that also might have to do with their running game. As a team, they are averaging just 58 rushing yards per game. Thats 16 fewer yards per game than the second-worst team in football, and 138 yards fewer than the Bears are averaging per game.Â
That leaves pretty much everything to the passing attack. The Packers are 11th in the league with 249.3 yards per game through the air. Unfortunately for them, the Bears are ranked as the third-best pass defense in football. The Packers, for what it is worth, are the fourth-best passing defense in football. Perhaps that means the under is worth a look.
